Rounding Errors

When syncing BCIs to Xero, you may notice small differences in the totals between CMS and Xero.

It is considered normal to have small rounding errors in accounting, as long as they do not significantly affect the overall financial situation.

Xero calculates tax on a per line basis, rounding to two decimal places, and then sums the tax totals of each line to calculate the total invoice tax. Other systems may total lines and then calculate the tax amount, which can lead to a slight variance.


To deal with this, a new feature has been released in CMS.

In the System Dashboard—CMS Premium—Xero tab, you can now send across BCIs as a single line.
